A Podcast About Mental Health

Tell Your Story

NOTE: As of 2018, The Dark Place is on an indefinite hiatus, but I still welcome you to share your story with me using the below form. Due to the number of stories that are submitted, I am unfortunately not able to reply to every one or include them all on the air.

This form is not a way to receive help. If you are in imminent danger to yourself or others, call 9-1-1. If you are having thoughts of suicide, call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

Being honest can do two things: 1) Lift a weight off your own chest, and 2) Help someone who may be feeling the same way.

In the box below, tell us about your personal dark place. It could be a time when you've felt lonely, depressed, anxious, insecure, guilty, frustrated, shamed, abused, confused, or embarrassed. It could be a single moment, or it could be a way you feel every day. For every person it will be different, but in solidarity we can help show that you're not alone.

Stories submitted through this form may be read aloud during an upcoming "Listener Dark Places" episode of the podcast. If you'd like to contact Joel for a different reason, you can email darkplace (at) joelkutz (dot) com.

I encourage you to be as candid as possible, so please feel free to use a fake name if that helps. I ask for your email so I can respond to what you write, but if you wish to be truly anonymous, feel free to use a fake email as well. If you'd like your entry to possibly be read on the show, please keep it below 750 words (no minimum).

Thank you for sharing your story. It means everything. If you do not wish for your story to be shared on the podcast, please email me at darkplace@joelkutz.com to let me know.

Never miss an episode.
